OUR ICEBREAKER ACTIVITIES

HOW IT WORKS

At the beginning of the session, each participant is given their own colourful boomwhacker - a pitched percussion tube. Each colour has a different length and pitch, and, when struck (on the palm or against each other), boomwhackers produce a pleasing, mellow sound. Next, through a series of fun call and response exercises, your group will be taught basic rhythm games before being split into groups of different musical pitches.

Now the groups must work as a team using communication and listening skills to be able to play together and create a well known tune as one big percussive orchestra.

WHY BOOMWHACKERS

This musical rhythm team bonding activity helps participants to work as one unit and to appreciate their role as part of the whole. There are no leaders, no winners in this type of event and everyone is equally valued. The team works together to achieve an impressive result - a really rewarding piece of music that demonstrates that the sum of the whole is greater than the individual.
